On the petition filed with the U. S. Supreme Court by GAHT, a group of Japanese-Americans which seeks removal of the Glendale Comfort Women Monument, the Japanese Government submitted Amicus Brief (a third party opinion) on February 22 to the U. S. Supreme Court representing Japanfs standing that the U. S. Supreme Court should accept the petition and reconsider the appeal courtfs decision against GAHT.
- The historic practice of the United States has been to address the Comfort Women Issue,
like other residual issues from World War II, gthrough a settled foreign policy of state-to-state negotiation
with Japan.h
However, the Glendale monument represents interference and departure from the settled foreign policy;
- Japan strongly disagrees that the inscription on the Glendale monument accurately describes the historic record,
which Japan has studied at length;
- It is of utmost importance to Japan that states or localities like Glendale may not insert themselves into foreign relations,
especially on sensitive subjects like this one
so that they cannot undermine the unified message that
the United States of America must send in its foreign policy making;
- The Court of Appeals ruling allows state and local governments to take positions that are inconsistent with the foreign policy of the United States government
and thereby risks harm to (the relationship of) the United States and its close allies such as Japan; and,
- Japanese-Korean Relations are delicate and could be disrupted by conflicting U.S. pronouncements on the Comfort Women Issue.
US Representative Ed Royce panders to Korean voters while turning deaf ears to Japan's refutation Knowingly or unknowingly, he shares the blind hatred of Koreans and participates in their malicious attempt to tarnish the reputation of Japan with fabricated story of forced sexual slavery.
The side effect of cultivating the hatred may linger and lead to a racial conflict between the two peoples such as that of Israel and Arabs, or that of Pakistan and India.

If a racial conflict breaks out anywhere in the world between the Japanese and the Koreans, it is the fault of US politicians such as Ed Royce who kowtow to Korean demagogues for easy funds and votes.
